Muscadine

Search entire market by all or part of product name:

Muscadine is a species of grape (Vitis rotundifolia) that is native to the Southeastern United States. There are several cultivars of Muscadine grapes that range in color from green to black and typically have large berries. The inner flesh of muscadine grapes is rich and thick, with an intense sweetness like a Concord grape, and they have tough spicy skins that have a plum-like flavor. Another muscadine cultivar, Scuppernongs, ripen to a bronze or green. Scuppernongs are slightly less sweet than the purple muscadines. Eat straight—and prepare to spit out the seeds—or enjoy as a preserve or jelly. They also make a delicious, unique wine.
